Therapy for Emotional Healing + Growth

Therapy That Honors your Whole Experience

Therapy at Joining with Empathy offers INTEGRATIVE THERAPY, LGBTQIA+ AFFIRMING THERAPY, and MEDICATION MANAGEMENT in Baltimore, Maryland. A steady, supportive space to slow down and make sense of what you are carrying. We work with teens and adults seeking emotional support, healing, and a deeper sense of calm as they navigate stress, anxiety, identity questions, relationships, or life transitions.

Care is relational, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, shaped by careful listening and respect for your pace. Mental health counseling services are primarily insurance-based, helping make care more accessible, with additional options available as needed. Therapy here is not about fixing or rushing change. It is about feeling understood, supported, and gently guided as you reconnect with yourself and move forward with greater steadiness.

walking in nature

A Different Way to Connect, Reflect, and Heal

Walk & Talk Therapy

For some people, meaningful conversations happen more naturally while walking side by side than sitting across from someone in an office. Walk & Talk Therapy offers the same thoughtful, evidence-based care you would receive in a traditional therapy session while allowing the movement and natural surroundings to become part of the healing process.

Walking can help create a sense of ease, making it feel a little easier to slow racing thoughts, process emotions, and engage in difficult conversations. Many people find that being outdoors helps them feel more grounded, present, and connected to themselves.

Like every service at Joining with Empathy, Walk & Talk Therapy is relational, trauma-informed, and tailored to your individual needs. Sessions move at your pace both emotionally and physically and always prioritize your comfort and sense of safety.

Walk & Talk Therapy may be a good fit if you:

  • Feel more comfortable talking while moving than sitting still.
  • Want to reduce stress while processing difficult emotions.
  • Feel grounded by spending time outdoors.
  • Are looking for a different therapy experience that still provides thoughtful, structured support.
  • Want space to reflect, reconnect with yourself, and move forward with greater clarity.

What to Expect

Sessions take place in carefully selected outdoor locations that offer privacy while allowing us to walk together at a comfortable pace. We will discuss whether Walk & Talk Therapy is appropriate for your goals, physical comfort, and clinical needs before getting started.

Not every situation is best suited for outdoor sessions, and together we'll determine whether this approach is the right fit for you.

Integrated Support

Medication Management in Baltimore

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT is offered as a supportive option for individuals seeking additional mental health support. This service centers understanding the whole you, including emotional experience, daily functioning, and overall wellbeing, rather than focusing on symptoms alone.

Medication is never the only answer and is not required to receive care. When used, it is approached thoughtfully and collaboratively, with attention to your goals, concerns, and preferences.

Medication management may support...

  • Evaluation of whether medication could be helpful
  • Clear education about options, benefits, and potential side effects
  • Ongoing monitoring and adjustment as needed
  • Integration with therapy when appropriate
  • Collaborative decision-making that honors your pace and choice

When helpful, medication management can complement therapy as part of a balanced, individualized approach to care.
