Dr. Herbert is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in Maryland. She has over a decade of clinical experience, including mental health and substance abuse counseling in community, outpatient mental health, school-based, and hospital settings.
Dr. Herbert is also a professor at Antioch University in the counselor education department. She has presented at numerous conferences and specialized training programs throughout her career. Dr. Herbert's clinical work and scholarship focuses on sexuality, relational dynamics/therapy, kinky and alt-sex communities, folks in varied relational structures, life transitions, parenting strain and fertility struggles, especially within the queer community. She also serves in leadership and advocacy roles focused on social justice efforts within the profession and the larger communities. Dr. Herbert is deeply committed to her efforts to provide inclusive, sex-positive, justice-oriented, and affirming care that values and respects all clients' lived experiences.
